Will the Circle Be Unbroken?
Under the freeway world things are topsy turvy. I’m sitting at the edge of a perfect circle in the
full lotus position but one of my feet breaks the the symmetry and the leader at the center corrects me aggressively. How dare he!
I’ll just float away but there’s no water to be found. Only a dry raft of reeds, no actual “Sea of Reeds” where in vain I can seek refuge from my Pharaoh.
Not likely in my lonely world of boulders and a dry channel of aluminum. A stark line of men in black remind me that I am the one coating my world with what is drab, intrusive, and aggressive.
Only when the little insects gather about me do I notice their leader putting a hood over his head as he leads the dance and lets the wild rumpus begin.
The leader I yearn for at the center of my being is imperfect and broken. I see only when my eyes are covered and I won’t escape from my Egypt by standing still on dry reeds.
Will the circle be unbroken? No. So get off your duff, stand up, close your eyes, ignore what you expect and dance along with the insects while
there’s still time.
